The PPC will appeal to all audiophiles that insist on a straight, high-current connection to the wall with no series or parallel devices installed to affect the phase or power factor of the AC mains. It is the result of our customers demand for more AC outlets for larger home theater systems or remote equipment such as mono block amps or a projector that is some distance from the rest of the system. They wanted a way to get the benefits of clean balanced AC power (from their BP Isolator) to more equipment without compromising the connection with an ordinary power extension strip. The PPC can be ordered with the same outlets as their BP Isolator--keeping the quality and sonic signature the same. While there are a few audiophile quality power strips available, we wanted to offer a unit that had matching outlets for our BP Isolators and offered exceptional value (like the rest of our line) to new customers. As you will see the PPC fits the need and even surpasses the competition in options and performance. Nothing is overlooked.

Construction:

The chassis is 18" x 3.75" x 3", has 3 duplex AC outlets (6 total outlets) and an IEC inlet, that's it--no power switch, fuse, surge protection, filter capacitors or flashing lights. So what-- nothing new there--well maybe. Shielding is extremely important for best performance in audio circuits and power supplies--the same holds true for the AC supply as well. OK, most high-end audio power strips have either a steel or aluminum chassis that provide some semblance of shielding. There are a couple high dollar power strips ($1000+) that use a brass chassis, which is better due to the moderate copper content in the brass lowering the impedance path to shunt RF noise to ground. So, why not go all the way? The PPC chassis is pure copper providing the lowest impedance path to ground by an order of magnitude—resulting in the highest attenuation of RF noise possible, bar none. All hardware is non-magnetic and tabs with holes are provided for wall or ceiling mounting. Now coated with an extremely durable copper pebble finish.

Your choice of 15A or 20A IEC inlet. The 15A IEC inlet is one of the finest available from Furutech with gold plating (Rhodium plating available at extra charge). A 20A style Hubbell IEC inlet is available (no extra charge) or a 20A style Rhodium plated Furutech IEC is available (extra charge). Since the Hubbell, FIM and R-1 are all 20A rated outlets, a fully 20A rated PPC is created.

The outlets are star wired (each duplex outlet has its own set of wires that return to the AC input) with our custom 12 AWG, finely stranded Oxygen Free Copper wire. You can upgrade the wiring to our custom 12 AWG finely stranded OFC Oxygen Free Copper Litz wire for improved transient response with tighter bass, finer detailing, extended high frequencies and superb neutrality. We also offer our 10 AWG solid core 99.99% pure silver wire with Teflon jacketing for sound that is effortless, dynamic and pure--satisfying the most demanding musical soul. Finally, we offer our 12 AWG UP-OCC ultra pure single crystal copper stranded wiring for superb low level detail, improved dynamics and relaxed, natural sound.

Standard outlets are the fine sounding premium Hubbell 5362---all brass construction (with no nickel plating that can add brightness to the high frequencies)

No power cord is included:

We recommend using our $399 L-10 OFC Litz wire power cord when upgrading the internal wiring of the PPC with the matching OFC Litz wiring. We recommend using our $199 C-10 power cord when the PPC is wired with the matching standard OFC wiring. For the financially strapped, we have a heavy duty shielded 14 gauge molded power cord available for $15.

Tip:

If your PPC is being plugged straight into a wall AC outlet, we highly recommend you use an outlet of matching quality and sonics. Replace your low quality wall outlet with one of our high quality receptacles. [Warning, the AC circuit must be turned off at the mains panel and tested for no voltage before attempting wall receptacle removal. If you are not 100% confident in your ability to perform this task safely, please hire a qualified electrician.]

As you can see this is not an off the shelf power strip that gets a new manufacturers nameplate. BPT has engineered this product from scratch for unencumbered high current delivery and superb sonics.
